My husband and I will be camping in Southern Vermont (Arlington) in late August. It has been years since I've been there. Any must-do recommendations? We'll probably cook at the campsite a lot, but if there are some good restaurants we should check out, that would be great. Also, we like to hike and bike, so we'd love any recommendations on good trails or routes. We don't mind driving an hour or so to get places.

One idea: It's been years since I was in Weston, VT, but I remember it as a charming little village untouched by time. Here is a web page touting it's attractions and such.

We still have several of the Monks of the Weston Priory albums, which are very peaceful listening and it looks like biking in the area is encouraged, too. The Priory is a few miles north of town, I think.

For bicycle tours in Vermont, check this site:

http://www.vbt.com/default.aspx

They have been in the business for 37 years and are located in Bristol, Vermont. We see their tours all over Vermont.
