Some of us grew up there, some of us spent many days of our youth there, some of us have kids there. From the Telegraph U.K., enjoy:

Santa Cruz: My Kind of Town

I especially love the vibrant photos!

Nice article! Those photos are great - love the surfer silhouettes.

A friend and I happened to duck into the El Palomar bar the other day to get out of the sun ... it was 100 degrees! In Santa Cruz!! We shared a great mixed grill appetizer, and I had a tasty margarita-like concoction made with soda water. Very refreshing. Thumbs Up

What a neat article!

I have two nieces who live in Santa Cruz. I am going to send them the link to the story.

Thanks for the info, Shannon!

So, Shannon, are you saying that Santa Cruz is Kevin Bacon Cool? Thanks for the article; I'm going to send it to my daughter at the winery in Soquel. We are hoping to get up there for a few days at the end of the month.

I'm another Santa Cruz fan. I grew up in the Central Valley and Santa Cruz was our Saturday getaway trip as a teenager. It was only about a 2 hour drive. We usually spent the whole day on the boardwalk. I was terrified of the roller coaster but my friends loved it.

Did you know that the boardwalk turned 100 last year? Here's article on the Centennial that I sent my high school friends.
