FYI - There is a Lidia's in Kansas City as well, where I've happily been on several occasions. It preceded the one in Pittsburgh. There are also, of course, four of her restaurants in NYC under different names, such as Becco and Felidia. Yum!
Thanks Wendy and Rob for your fun review of the Crab Shack. Jane, Ken, Casey and I had such a great afternoon there. Your description was very accurate. I felt like the setting was so airy and fun. Looking out to the water I half expected Forrest Gump and Bubba to go sailing by in their shrimp boat! Watching Casey feed the little alligators was a plus too. Barb Cabot

I am determined to get a program going among our members to review their local restaurants as well as others when they travel. We have umpteen restaurants for the smallest towns in Italy but almost none here in some of our biggest cities!
I'm doing my part... I am off to Atlanta in another week and will do some more there.

Re eating in New Bern: You should have gone down Middle St. to the Chelsea instead. We ate lunch there in April with friends who live in Morehead City and who recommended it. It was very good. One of these days I'll get around to writing a trip report of our time in the area with a few restaurant reviews as well. (But I've said that before.)
