Thanks so much for a wonderful report of your visit to New Orleans. After living there for 35 years and loving almost every minute of it, Katrina took our home and sent us packing. It's so nice to read something accurate - and I loved the pictures.

By the way, there are "party trees" all over the city. Right after Mardi Gras, they are covered in beads, but as the year wears on the beads fall off in the rain and wind. I always loved looking at them.

Good report, timely for me as I'm heading to New Orleans early Saturday morning for about a week, staying at the Loews but wish I was more in the French Quarter.
