It looks like I will have an unexpected work trip to Mexico City, leaving this weekend and staying for two weeks. Our offices are in the business district of Santa Fe and I will be staying at the Camino Real hotel there. I have never been to Mexico City so I would love to hear good ideas on restaurants and fun things to do. I will have one weekend, and hopefully I won't be working during the weekend, so that I can catch some museums and stuff. I will of course do some research online but personal recommendations are always nice! (If anyone has any pointers on what typical business attire is in Mexico City that would be great as well!)

OK I am now replying to myself but I found some good things right here on ST, including this trip report by Janie and Geoff.

Hi Chiocciola - thanks for the vote of confidence in my Mexico City trip report.
As for places to see, Geoff's business partner & his wife were here recently, and she promised to take me to Frida Kahlo's house (Casa Dolores Olmedo) the next time we are there; she has mentioned this twice now, so I think it must be a favorite museum for her and worth the visit.
I'd also try to get to the Xochimilco canals , which are in the same area as the Casa Dolores Olmedo. It sounds fascinating and a good photo op.
Have a wonderful time!
