Isn't Ithaca on the Finger Lakes? We used to visit there when we lived in northern Pennsylvania. It has the famous natural foods restaurant - Moosewood. Pauline from Slow Travelers

Moosewood is fantastic - as is the Moosewood Cookbook which is known all over. I went to school in Ithaca and adored the town. The Cornell Hotel School is a real hotel run by the students. The food and service is excellent. It is definitely one of the nicer ones in the area (at least it was in the 1980s)! Ithaca is filled with high gorges, suspension bridges, Buttermilk Falls (waterfalls), terrific hikes, and other outdoorsy stuff. There used to be a terrific French restaurant called L'Auberge just outside of town. Have fun!
