We are arriving in Rome On Oct 2. We will drive to Pitigliano for arrival later that night. Where should we stop(sight see and/or eat) along the way?

I would not miss Civita di Bagnoregno. There is a good trattoria in the main town--I forget the name.

Depending on how much time you have, you could take in the Eturscan tombes in Tarquinia and Cerveteri. The latter is an incredible, huge city of the dead. It is a great place to walk around, filled with thousand of tombs and well as trees and greenery. Tarquinia has painted tombs and is a much smaller site to see. There is quite a wonderful museum in Tarquinia as well. We ate at a Sagra di Funchi in Traquinia so we canot help you with a personal restaurant recomendation.

Haven't eaten in Pitigliano, but if you go by way of Lago di Bolsena, stop in the little town of Marta. They have a great fish restaurant (forget the name). Ask anyone and they'll know which one you're talking about....Pesce, pesce..........Hey Bob, the name of the place in Bagnoregio is Hosteria del Ponte, if you mean the one before going up the bridge to Civita.
