Tivli is an easy daytrip from Rome, but you only have 4 meagre days to enjoy the Eternal City... Do you really want to subtract time from Rome? ^____^ Alice Twain -- A Typesetter's day 3.0: Blog.

As I mentioned in another note, we stayed overnight in Tivoli (two nights actually) and enjoyed ourselves. We too were enroute to Le Marche and found it a nice way to ease into Italy...we stayed in Tivoli the first two nights of our trip. We had always planned to do a day trip to Tivoli from Rome, but on our previous visits (about a dozen) never seemed to find the time. So since we were driving right past it, we decided to stop and have a leisurely visit. It is definitely doable as a day trip from Rome....organized tour or by yourself. You have to be aware that Villa Adriana is a few kilometers from the town (where Villa d'Este is) so it will involve a few buses to see everything. With a car, it was pretty simple.....
