Hi all,

Two weeks and counting and I find myself with yet another question! We'll be spending the first leg of our trip in Rome for 4 nights and then we're off through Abruzzo for 9 nights in Le Marche....AND, we'd like to visit Tivoli, Hadrian's Villa, etc. as well. Do you think we should do this as a day trip from Rome or should we plan on staying one night in Tivoli on our way to Le Marche? What do you recommend??? We're open to all suggestions Smile
Thank you!!!!

Tivli is an easy daytrip from Rome, but you only have 4 meagre days to enjoy the Eternal City... Do you really want to subtract time from Rome? ^____^

I would agree that four days in Rome is not alot, but you could squeze Tivoli in. It is an easy day trip from Rome an it takes under an hour to get there. It is a trip that you could do all day and be back in Rome for dinner and a night on the town.

As I mentioned in another note, we stayed overnight in Tivoli (two nights actually) and enjoyed ourselves. We too were enroute to Le Marche and found it a nice way to ease into Italy...we stayed in Tivoli the first two nights of our trip.

We had always planned to do a day trip to Tivoli from Rome, but on our previous visits (about a dozen) never seemed to find the time.

So since we were driving right past it, we decided to stop and have a leisurely visit.

It is definitely doable as a day trip from Rome....organized tour or by yourself. You have to be aware that Villa Adriana is a few kilometers from the town (where Villa d'Este is) so it will involve a few buses to see everything.
With a car, it was pretty simple.....
