Please see this slow talk thread for the original story.

I'm very happy and grateful to let those people who were following along (and anyone else!) know that Lynn was thrilled beyond words to receive a replacement for her lost bag last night.

This holiday magic was made possible by the very kind souls that lurk around these parts, and I have nothing but the best wishes for everyone's holiday season and New Year.

The original story is discussed in the thread linked to above and also on my web page.

I wrote up the story of how I gave Lynn the new bag and there are some pictures of Lynn with the new bag here.

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to all slowtalk.com readers and to your family and friends.

truly,
Lee

Almost as good as the Gift of the Magi. You are a sweet, wonderful, thoughtful man and I'm sure you got as much pleasure from her surprise as she did. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you both.

Our daughter just happens to go to college in the same state where Lee lives.

He has sent her a check for double the amount of the cost of the bag and shipping.

She's going to jump in here: My Mom has been telling me about your search for Lynn's bag. I'm going back to USA at the end of January. The bank will be very happy to see me deposit my first in-state check. Thank you for including me, I'll put the money to good use. Buon Anno, Pia

Yay how great that it all worked out!! Y'all on this board really are so nice! Lee, I loved reading the resolution to the story, what a great surprise for your wife, and I loved how you planned the dinner and everything leading up to the gift.
